[Dawn grins and leans across the counter towards him, Rachel who is on her phone looks up and wrinkles her nose in distaste at Jason calling Dawn 'babe'.]

[ oh.... great. Rachel's still here. he makes a face at the look she makes, then goes to lean across the counter towards her. ]

I mean, I should probably get to taste 'em first, right?

[Dawn leans in more and pulls at the strings on Jason's hoodie.]

Nope, thanks first, then delicious....warm...double chocolate chip cookies after.

[ his eyes are on Dawn, but he can hear Rachel stop texting to look over at them, and he can definitely sense her WTF face. so he smirks, leaning in just a little bit closer. ]

You didn't tell me they were double chocolate chip. I'm so into double.

[Dawn's eyelids lower a little as she gives Jason a playful smoldering look.]

Oh I know....

[Rachel glances at her, her eyebrows shooting up.]

[ wow, he can't believe that she's actually playing along with this. in front of Rachel. hell, she even started it. ]

In that case, I'll be thanking you now and later.

[Rachel can't seem to help herself anymore, because her WTF look turns into an EW!]

[Dawn laughs and finally saves Rachel from having a minor freak out by breaking the scene and giving Jason's hair a playful ruffle.]

You can thank me all night long, but first you have to thank Rachel because it was her idea to make cookies.

[She turns and picks up the plate which holds the cookies and then looks expectantly at Jason.]

Gross, I don't need his thank you if that's how it's gonna be.

[Jason snickers and pulls back, leaning his hip against the counter as he looks at Rachel, who is sliding off the stool so she can leave this mess.]

Okay, but if I don't thank you now I'm gonna have to thank you later too, Rachel.

[Rachel gives him such a grossed out look and Jason shrugs, then turns to Dawn and swipes a cookie.]

[Rachel makes an irritated noise in her throat but leans in to give Dawn a hug.]

Thanks for baking with me, next time though let's only make a small batch for ourselves.

[She says and looks pointedly at Jason before leaving the kitchen with a few of her own treats. Once she's left Dawn turns and gives Jason an exasperated look.]

You two.....do you ever get along?

[Jason mutters under his breath as he nibbles at his cookie. he gives her a look right back, resisting the urge to give her the finger as well, and once Rachel leaves he practically devours the rest of it.]

Mmff. Noff she hates me.

[Dawn sighs and leans back across the counter towards him, watching him devour the cookies with a little smile.]

Any idea why? Just difference in personalities?

[ Jason shrugs. he tries not to think about it too hard cause then it'll start to bother him, and he doesn't want to be bothered. it's fine anyway cause he doesn't want to get too attached either. ]

Guess so. I didn't do anything to her. She just thinks she's better than me.

[Dawn rolls her eyes.]

She does not, I think she just feels a little out of place sometimes being the youngest, not to mention the only girl on the new team.

[ he shrug again, looking down at his cookie and breaks off a chunk of chocolate, putting it in his mouth. ]

She doesn't treat Gar like this though. I mean it's cool and all, I don't care. I'm just saying.

She doesn't treat Gar like that because she likes him, but that's not an excuse. You're right, she should be trying a bit harder to get along with you too.

[She says and picks up a cookie and takes a bite.]

But you have to admit she makes a good cookie.

[and he feels so utterly out of place too.]

Yeah, they're pretty good. Look, just don't say anything to her, okay? It's really fine.

[She says and looks at him, smiling.]

And let's both hope she doesn't say anything to Dick about our little flirting scene or else I'm going to get an earful.

[She chuckles and runs a hand through her hair.]
