RP with Rachel/Raven

[dawn_is_breaking]

[It took a little longer than expected to plan out all the details and secure a firm date for their girl's night but finally Dawn had booked a flight and hotel and made the long journey from Paris to San Francisco, giving herself one day to sleep off the jet lag and then the next day it's time to meet Rachel.

She feels excited but also a little nervous, it feels like a lot has happened between then and now and she hopes nothing will be weird between them. She's missed Rachel a lot and when she arrives at the coffee shop they agreed to meet at she sits down on the patio, taking out her phone to shoot Rachel a text that says:]

I'm here.

I know it is, you just have to try and keep hoping that he'll find his way again.

He will. He has to. Besides, if anyone knows about darkness, it's me.

[dawn_is_breaking]

Exactly. So if you can make it through so can he.
In fact knowing that you've been through that darkness might help him.

You think so?

[dawn_is_breaking]

Yes, it helps having friends who have gone through similar things. You can talk about it easier with them.

Hopefully he gives me the chance.

[Dawn leans over to give Rachel a little side hug.]

Me too.

[ Rachel leans into the hug. It feels good. There's so much going on lately, a night off feels like just what she needs. And she can help Conner later, or at least try. ]

Everything's changing so fast...you know.

[dawn_is_breaking]

Oh I know.

[She says and gives Rachel a little squeeze.]

You've already grown up so much.

[feelthedarkness]

I guess I have, huh? It's weird sometimes I feel like that little girl who had no idea who she was or what she could do.

[dawn_is_breaking]

You might feel like that but it's not what I see.
I see a young woman who has become amazingly strong and kind.

[feelthedarkness]

Ooh, I don't know about the kind part...always.

[dawn_is_breaking]

No one is always kind, you're human after all, but you're kind in the ways that matter.

[feelthedarkness]

I think you're a little biased, but thank you, Dawn. You're definitely kind too. And amazing.

[dawn_is_breaking]

[Dawn laughs and gives Rachel another squeeze.] Maybe, but just a little bit.

[Her phone timer goes off and she sits up slowly.]

And it's time for these face masks to come off, are you feeling moisturized?

I think so. How about you?

[dawn_is_breaking]

Very much so, shall we move on to eye masks next?

[feelthedarkness]

Sure. Or should we have a snack first?

[dawn_is_breaking]

Ooooh good idea, what do you feel like having?

Can we get pizza?

[ Okay, so it was a bit more than a snack but Rachel really wanted some. They had plenty of time to do everything else they wanted. ]

I think if we survive this...insane end-of-the-world event, I might want to um...go to college?

[dawn_is_breaking]

Of course, so long as it isn't cauliflower.

[She says with a laugh, poking fun at Dick and his weird obsession with cauliflower crust pizza. She takes out her phone and lets Rachel pick whatever kind she wants and then orders it through ubereats.]

College? Rachel, that's great. What kind of classes were you thinking of taking?

Cauliflower is more Dick's thing. It's fine but I want the real thing.

I'm not sure yet. I just want to feel normal for awhile.

[dawn_is_breaking]

That's because pizza, real pizza, is the best.

I think that's not only a valid desire but also a really good idea.

You don't think it's silly for me?

[dawn_is_breaking]

Not at all, I think it's a wonderful idea.
You should be able to get an education, make friends, and live your life.
