dawn_is_breaking | RP with Rachel/Raven

[ It's been too long since Rachel last saw Dawn. She wishes it could be different. She really misses her. But things are always so complicated. So she's thrilled that Dawn's able to come to San Francisco and spend some time with her. She's excited for all the plans they made.

It's easy enough for Rachel to get away too. And as soon as she gets Dawn's text she's on her way to the cafe. She arrives and spots her right away, her smile brightens just upon seeing her friend. Rachel realizes she looks different than the last time Dawn's seen her, for one thing her hair is now completely white. ]

Hey, Dawn.

[Dawn breaks out into a smile that truly is like her name, warm and bright as the morning sun.]

Hey you.

[She says happily and gets up so she can give Rachel a big hug. Gar always used to tell her that she gave the best hugs and she hopes that's still true.]

It's so good to see you!

[ Dawn definitely gives the best hugs. Gar was on point with that. Rachel clings to her. Not only because it's been so long but because so much had happened. ]

Good to see you too!

[Dawn can feel a lump of emotion catch in her throat and she hugs Rachel even tighter, not really caring that she's close to tears at seeing her friend. Dawn has never been one to hide her emotions but finally she pulls back a little, smiling even though her eyes are damp.]

You look incredible, even though you're trying to steal my look.

[She teases, meaning the white hair.]

[ Rachel laughs a little at this. Though she's not sure Dawn will be laughing when she tells her what happened. ]

Oh um, this happened when I lost my powers. It was...a whole thing.

Well you're welcome to tell me all about it, or not.

[She says and gives her another shorter squeeze.]

It's up to you how much you want to talk about Titans stuff, okay?

Okay.

[ Rachel isn't sure how much she should say, but she also would appreciate Dawn's input on it. And she knows she probably can't have fun until she gets it all off her chest. So she summarizes everything that's been happening, including finding and losing her half brother and losing her powers and getting them back. And oh yeah, the world might be ending... ]

[ooc: just a note that I haven't seen titans season 4 yet (I hope to download it this weekend) but I'm cool with spoilers and will have to gloss over Dawn's reaction a bit since I don't know all the details.]

[Dawn listens quietly and calmly as Rachel catches her up on everything that's been happening and when she's all done she pulls her in for another long hug. She can't fix anything that's happened, nor can she fix the issue with the world possibly ending but one thing she can do is give comfort.]

I love you.

[She says softly as she hugs the younger girl.] And I'm proud of how strong you've become.

[OOC: No worries on that, I just finished the last ep today. Forever mad at HBO max]

[ The hug is appreciated. Rachel feels better already after speaking to Dawn. ]

I love you too. Can't say I feel all that strong though.

[ooc: So mad at them!!]

That's because you're running on empty and are exhausted from having to process all of that. [Dawn says as she gently lets go.]

But that's going to change with a whole bunch of pampering and girl talk, right?

[OOC: All the good shows are getting canceled, it's infuriating!]

Yes, lots of all that.

[ Honestly, Rachel already feels lighter. So much has happened in the past few years and it's seemed like one trauma after another. Truly taking a night off would be good for her. ]

[ooc: I know right? Blugh.]

[Dawn has always thought that it's important they take nights off, it's something Dick never wanted to do but still appreciated when she made him do it from time to time and now she's more than happy to do the same for Rachel.]

Well then I think the first thing you need is to get yourself a nice coffee along with a treat.

[ OOC: I hope you can watch soon and then we can chat! Do you have plurk or Discord? Also, sorry for being slow sometimes. There are some days I'm too busy or too tired to answer tags. ]

Coffee and a treat sounds good. Thanks again for this, Dawn. I don't think I realized hoe much I needed it till I got here.

[ooc: I actually just watched up to episode 6 over the weekend and my friend is getting me the next 6 episodes this weekend. :) And no worries for being slow.]

Anytime, sweetheart. We should have done this long ago but moving forward I'd like to try and make it a more regular thing.

[ OOC: What do you think so far? ]

I would love that, honestly.

[ She'd also love if things could be normal again, but she supposes there is no real going back after all that's happened. And what's normal anyway? A setting on the washer? ]

[ooc: I like that they went more horror/scary and I loved Lex Luthor. I've never been a fan of him before but the way they did him was so damn cool, so I was sad he died at the end of the first episode XD ]

[Dawn smiles and gives her another quick hug.]

Me too. I've forgotten how nice it is to have family and friends. I've been living a rather solitary life in Paris.

[ OOC: Yeah, this version of him was really interesting. I can't wait to see what you think of the rest of the season. I kind of love Sebastian Blood but I am a sucker for Joseph Morgan. ]

That sounds really lonely, Dawn. I don't want you to be alone.

[ooc: So far I am enjoying Sebastian, I thought it was cute how him and Rachel were getting along. I also enjoyed Conner embracing his Luther side and slagging on Dick so much. ]

It's not all bad, it's given me a lot of time to think about certain things.

[ OOC: I know, right? I've always had a thing for the bad boys too. ]

But I don't want you to be alone.

[ooc: He looks pretty good with a shaved head too ;)

[She tilts her head to one side, her brows knitting together a little because Rachel seems extra sensitive about this.]

Why? Are you scared something will happen if I'm alone?

[ OOC: He does! And that 'tude! ]

No, it's not that. But you shouldn't have to be alone. You deserve better than that. I know everything that happened...but that doesn't mean you should be alone forever, Dawn. You should be happy.

[Dawn reaches across to give Rachel's hand a little squeeze.]

Well moving forward I won't be so alone, I'm going to try and visit you more often. And Donna has told me she'll eventually come spend some time in Paris.

[A small pause where she lifts a brow.]

Unless you're talking more about me dating again?

[ Rachel nods a bit. ]

Well, kind of both.

[She has to chuckle at that.]

You're not trying to set me up with someone, are you?

No. I just want you to be open to it.
