It's not stupid. I just thought that maybe you were thinking I was trying to pull some shit again. There were these guys running out of a store with what they stole and the store clerk started running after them. One of the guys pulled a gun and before he could shoot I tackled him... into the middle of the street. The truck tried to swerve to avoid us but it wasn't fast enough, so I threw him out of the way and got hit. I had to get outta there real quick after that cause I didn't want my face showing up anywhere and I could hear the cop cars in the distance already.

[he reaches back and yanks his underwear back over his ass so he can push the towel off and sit up, pulling his pants up the rest of the way.]

It was a fucking bad move. I had my hood up and I don't think anyone saw my face but there's always a chance it got recorded.

[Her brows crease together and she sits up when he does.]

[She says and then touches his shoulder lightly.]

I wasn't worried about you starting some shit again but I'm sorry if my tone implied that, I was worried that you were badly hurt. I still am. Automobile accidents are a bit of a sensitive spot with me since it's how my mother died.

[it's a sneaky way to get him to stop worrying, but it work. especially with a compliment thrown there as well. only time will tell if she's right, but he doesn't have to worry about it till then.]

[She lays back down on the bed but instead of laying on her stomach she lays on her side, her pale hair spilling down around her in waves.]

[ Jason's unsure how to sit right now and even on the soft mattress his ass kinda hurts, so he shifts to the unbruised side, drawing a leg up as he watches her, following the waves of her hair with his gaze before he looks at her face.

he looks a little unsure at her question, but... he trusts her.]

[She can see a little bit of unease in his eyes and she looks up at him with her calm dark eyes.]

When's your birthday?

[ he blinks at her for a moment, then laughs softly, shaking his head. ]

Okay, I was gearing myself up for a way weirder question than that. Don't fucking do that to me.

[he drags his fingers through his hair. birthdays aren't great. not at all. they come with a lot of trauma too, but at least it's a question he can handle.]

[She smiles and gives him a little shrug.]

I just realized that I don't know it. We lived in the Tower together and while we know some things about each other we don't know a lot of the specifics.

[ oh, she does not. Jason scrunches his face a little when she ruffles his hair, laughing softly as he looks upward, as if he can see the mess she made. kinda sorta, cause some of his curls hang in his face. ]

[he snorts, trying to shove them all back into place, failing entirely.]

[His laugh is as soft as his curls and she has to resist the urge to dig her hand back in when he unsuccessfully shoves his hair back. Part of her knows that she probably shouldn't do things like that, touch him so easily but she can't help it. Laying here together, being silly and talking, it feels nice and easy.]

Why not? Is cute such a bad compliment to get?

When I was a teenager my mother had these books on astrology and I remember one of them, which I was not supposed to find, was about sexual astrology. It was pretty wild stuff because it was written in the 70's but what I remember most was there was a part on each sign about certain....uh...tendencies they had in the bedroom. I think the most bizarre was the claim that Capricorn males were fond of using armpits and knee folds for sex.

[His insistence about not being cute is unlike the Jason she first met who back then would be delighted at being called cute, would maybe even push for more compliments, but the way he is now is so much more wary and hard on himself and she opens her mouth to argue with him but he interrupts her with his sudden need for clarification on knee folds.]

[She bursts out laughing and then looks at him in mock surprise.]

Okay let me try to remember....Libra females are supposed to be into butts. As in they are attracted to people with good butts and like having theirs pinched, touched, spanked and paddled. Yes, I've gotten, not to mention given, plenty of massages. It's a lot more soothing and peaceful than getting into an ice bath, but I mean if that's what you really want I can run to the store and get a few bags of ice to fill my tub with.
