I had a crush on him because he beat up some other boys who were being mean to me.

Plus I hadn't ever seen a natural redhead and I thought his hair was beautiful.

[he gives her a small smirk, then picks up his slice of pizza and takes another big bite. it's honestly pretty fucking heavenly. he hasn't had pizza in ages.]

I went around for about four months telling everyone I was going to marry Alphonse when I got older.

[She says with a smile and takes a bite out of her slice of pizza, chewing on it happily before continuing.]

But sadly his family moved away so I never got the chance to profess my love to him.

No, I don't think I'd want to see what he looks like now, he probably got his teeth fixed and cut off all his red hair or might be going bald.
I'm happier just having him be a fond memory.

[She says and giggles.]

It's been a while since I was a teenager girl so I'm kind of out of the loop.

You know what, I already forgot why we were laying on our stomachs gossiping.

[he snorts softly, then glances back at himself.]

Starting to feel a little numb, which isn't a terrible thing but I should probably take a break, yeah.

Guess that's a good sign, I've got it, you just relax.

[She says and puts her pizza down on her plate and sits up, taking the ice packs off Jason's body carefully. She then flops back down next to him.]

So do you want to tell me what happened exactly?

[he's relaxed. he tells himself he's relaxed too, so he's extra relaxed. this is fine. when she flops back down next to him the towel shifts a bit off his ass and he quickly reaches back to fix it, then glances at her.]

I told you what happened.

All you told me was that it was 'a minor incident involving some guys, some guns and some stolen goods'. I'd like a few more details if you don't mind.

[She says, trying not to glance in the direction of the towel that shifts off him a bit and failing. She sees a flash of skin and feels her cheeks trying to go pink again.]

[he can feel himself start to get a little defensive because it's like she's questioning him, though he should know that's not what it's about. he's always quick to be defensive though. sometimes just just can't help himself.]

[She says and then stops herself, laughing softly as she runs a hand through her hair.]

I'm just asking to be debriefed. Wanting to know what they were stealing, how many, what type of guns. God. Old habits and all that.

[ there's a look of hesitation on his face as she laughs and explains, and his shoulders relax once again. he looks away, frustrated with himself for getting worked up so quickly. but that's what he does, isn't it. ]

No, I'm sorry. It's stupid and isn't something I should concern myself with.

[She says, reaching down off the bed to get her glass of water.]

It's not stupid. I just thought that maybe you were thinking I was trying to pull some shit again. There were these guys running out of a store with what they stole and the store clerk started running after them. One of the guys pulled a gun and before he could shoot I tackled him... into the middle of the street. The truck tried to swerve to avoid us but it wasn't fast enough, so I threw him out of the way and got hit. I had to get outta there real quick after that cause I didn't want my face showing up anywhere and I could hear the cop cars in the distance already.

[he reaches back and yanks his underwear back over his ass so he can push the towel off and sit up, pulling his pants up the rest of the way.]

It was a fucking bad move. I had my hood up and I don't think anyone saw my face but there's always a chance it got recorded.

[Her brows crease together and she sits up when he does.]

[She says and then touches his shoulder lightly.]

I wasn't worried about you starting some shit again but I'm sorry if my tone implied that, I was worried that you were badly hurt. I still am. Automobile accidents are a bit of a sensitive spot with me since it's how my mother died.

[ he knows even then there's a small chance it'll matter, but that small chance is enough to make Jason nervous. if Crane is still up and around he could find him. if Dick sees that he's here he could come after him. or hell, figure out he's here with Dawn. ]

I remember. I'm okay, though. A little more ice, some rest and some advil and I'll be fine.

[it's a sneaky way to get him to stop worrying, but it work. especially with a compliment thrown there as well. only time will tell if she's right, but he doesn't have to worry about it till then.]
